After graduating with Distinction in Art Foundation from Middlesex University in 2005, illustrator Emily Milne Wallis moved on to the University of Brighton where she is currently completing her BA in Illustration – graduating in June 2008.

Her work has recently been exhibited with the Enfield Art Circle in her hometown and she is currently exhibiting in the I2Art Gallery in Saffron Walden. Her drawings have been displayed and sold in Lancaster Art Centre in London, as well as her handmade artists’ journals. Most recently she is exhibiting with Artbelow on the London Underground. Work placements include Eastwing and Inkshed Illustration Agencies. Emily has a passion for bookbinding and has long been interested in illustrating book jackets and stories for children.

Emily also loves piano playing and is now on Grade 8 and teaching. Her love of travelling has taken her to over 20 countries. Being half American, America appeals to her as a place to live and work and after her degree she intends to work abroad before doing her Masters in New York or London.

In the Pigsty!

First illustration for a fairytale by the Brother's Grimm called 'The Fisherman and his Wife'. All illustrations done with a black Rotring 0.1 Isograph pen.

The Fish Prince

Second illustration for 'The Fisherman and his Wife'. The Fisherman is granted a wish by the Fish Prince.

Fairytale Cottage

This is the third illustration in the series for 'The Fisherman and his Wife'. They are granted a beautiful cottage from the Fish Prince and no longer have to live in a pigsty.

Mad Cow

This is a drawing based on vegetarianism. The main theme being; if cows and other animals were not bred especially for meat then rainforests wouldn't be cut down and other land could be used to grow grains that could feed the world.
